Christmas invitation from Waseley Hills Cemetery & Crematorium

Anyone missing a loved one during the festive season is invited to join Waseley Hills Cemetery & Crematorium’s Christmas carol and memorial services for some comfort and company.

Whether they are living in – or visiting – the communities around the crematorium, they are welcome to join the events, which take place on Tuesday 9 December at 10.30am and 6.30pm.

During the services, which will feature a live choir, visitors will be able to write personal messages onto tags for hanging on the crematorium’s Christmas tree and use the site’s white memorial post box for ‘sending’ a Christmas card to their loved one.

If they can’t make it in person to either event, the services are being streamed live online and can be viewed for several weeks after.

Waseley Hills Cemetery & Crematorium is part of Westerleigh Group, one of the UK’s largest independent owners and operators of crematoria and cemeteries, with 42 sites in England, Scotland, and Wales, and which is trusted by more families than any other provider to deliver funerals for their loved ones.

All its crematoria are set within beautifully landscaped gardens of remembrance and cemeteries which provide peaceful places for people to visit and reflect, while benefitting from exceptional care and support from its teams.

Manager Claire Montague said: “Our Christmas services are open to anyone and everyone, regardless of whether you’ve ever attended a funeral here before or have a memorial to a loved one in our grounds.

“We know that during this time of year the loss of a loved one can be particularly poignant. Our services offer a meaningful way to bring people together in leading up to Christmas and finding comfort in remembering their loved one in company with others.”

Those who wish to attend are being asked to secure their free place by emailing waseleyhillsevents@westerleighgroup.co.uk or calling 0121 387 0710.

Those who are unable to attend in person but who would like to watch the service online can watch it by visiting: https://christmas.obitus.com, and then inputting the user name ‘WaseleyHills1’ (for morning service), ‘Waseleyhills2’ (for evening service) and the password ‘robin’.

The event will be available to see on the ‘watch again’ service using the same link and log-in details as above, for 28 days from Thursday 11 December.
